Please make it a point to visit our calendar for the most up to date scheduling information.
We have a lot of activities and information we like to make certain all swimming families are familiar with as the season starts. If you have any questions
don't hesitant to ask any veteran swimming parent or a member of the Gators Committee.
Summer Sign-In for Swim Meets
A sign-in sheet will be posted on the inside of the pool equipment room door for each meet. Swimmers must be signed in by the Wednesday before the meet. If
you are not signed in, you will not be entered in any events when the lineup is made on Thursday. If you are out of town during the sign-in period but will be
back in time for the meet, let coach Monica know before you head out of town and she will slot you in for your return.
Start Time for Meets
Dual meets begin at 8am each Saturday unless otherwise noted. Home meet warm-up time for the Gators will be from 7:00-7:20am. Warm-up for away meets is
typically 7:30-7:50am. Our warm-up time is brief, but important to avoid injuries. Please be on time and ready to swim during warm-ups.
Swim Team Pictures
Team photos will be taken on June 19th. The group photo will be taken promptly at 6:20am. Optional individual photos will be taken after the group photo.
Please wear your team swimsuit and a smile that morning. Order forms will be handed out about 1 week before the photo shoot. Please bring your money
the day the photos are taken if you want to order.
Conference Meet
This year's Tri-County Conference Meet will take place at the Baraboo indoor pool July 24-25 and will be hosted by Baraboo. This is a big meet with
hundreds of swimmers from eight conference teams. It is the highlight of the season for our swimmers. Gator swimmers must swim in at least 3 dual meets
to be eligible to swim in the Conference meet.
Bus Transportation
The Gators will provide an early-morning, one-way bus to away dual meets. Swimmers are encouraged to ride the team bus. The bus will pick up swimmers at the Mount
Horeb Pool and depart at the times listed on the calendar. Swimmers will be dropped off at the host pool and the bus will leave.
Parents are responsible for providing their child's transportation home from away meets. The bus only seats 78 people. Because of the growth of the Gators team
this year it is likely that there will not be enough room to take the entire team on the bus. Some swimmers will have to make their own accomodations. We are still
working through this detail. We will keep you posted.
Monday Night Socials
Monday nights, beginning on June 7th, we will have a treat potluck at the Mount Horeb Pool Shelter. The social will begin at 7:15pm with a brief swimmer recognition
presentation by the coaching staff. Please check the pool equipment room door and sign up each week. This is a fantastic time to meet other parents, swimmers and our
coaches. It is also an opportunity to provide swimmers and their parents with timely information on swim team meets and other swim team activities. (We ask that
families bring a treat to share at these gatherings.)
Cookie Dough Sale
Last year's cookie dough fundraising sale was a huge success, and we thank our fundraising committee for coordinating another sale this season. This is an excellent
product, and we encourage each swim team family to participate. More information will be coming at the first social in June.
Frolic Parade
Wear suits, bring squirt guns, meet in Middle school parking lot. Be prepared to walk the parade route.
New Parent Orientation Meeting - June 4th
New parents should try to attend our New Parent Orientation Meeting on June 4th at 6:30 at
the Boeck's Park Shelter. We will be going over some meet basics for you to help understand what
to expect at the meets.
Root Beer Float Night - June 4th
At 7:15pm at the pool on June 4th we will be having a Root Beer Float party at the Boeck's Park
Shelter to celebrate the expectations of another great summer of swimming. All swimmers and their
families are invited.
Parent Prep Night - June 4th
At 6:30pm at the Shelter on June 4th we will be meeting to explain to parents what to expect
at our first home meet. This is a chance for parents to ask questions about how swim meets are
run and any questions you may have as volunteers. Some of our more experienced Gator parents will
be talking about some of the specific volunteer roles that are performed during the meets and what
it takes to pull it off smoothly.
